School Board Meeting Tonight (8/13)

Postby ggkrupp » Mon Aug 13, 2012 5:17 pm

Merrimack School Board Meeting tonight (8/13/2012) at 7:30 PM at the Town Hall Meeting Room. Two items of interest on tonight's agenda:

1 - The first reading of a new School District Policy that implements HB 542 which allows parents to opt out of objectionable curriculum materials

and

2 - School Board consideration of School Budget Committee proposal to hold joint budget workshops to help voters more easily follow the process (by putting it after the holidays).

Both items are new territory for the District so if you care about either of these issues, consider attending the meeting in person and maybe even speaking during the public participation portion of the meeting.

Full agenda is here:

For those that missed the meeting, the discussion concerning the Budget Committee/School Board process for going through the budget was constructive. No decisions yet on any changes but the dialog was encouraging. Suggest catching one of the re-airings on Comcast or online at MerrimackTV Online if you have an interest.
