I noticed the final result was

ROY F. SWONDER 1,268
GEORGE MARKWELL 1,344

A 76 vote margin.

Was this from a request submitted for a recount?

Lynn I have a few questions.

Lynn is there a cost to the requestor for a recount/ I know I had a recount in 2001 when I lost by 10 votes and there was no charge but I didnt know if that had changed over the years?

I know one year Fran L"Hreux lost by approximately 1,000 votes andI think she might have had to pay (im not sure). Does payment kick in if its more then a certain number of votes?

Is there a cost to the taxpayers for a recount or is it all volunteers during a time when the building would be open anyways?

Thanks
Dave

Who presides over the recount? Are members of the public allowed to observe?
Gary G. Krupp

there is a $40 fee to request the recount
to be perfectly honest, I do not know if the SD pays the people doing the recount.

The Moderator presides over the recount with the assistance of the SD clerk and members of the school board
Roy is excluded since he is on the ballot and someone will be appointed to replace him as a school board member

The public is certainly welcome to watch - pretty boring, but they are welcome to watch.
