In a stunning reversal, Gov. John Lynch walked away from his own controversial plan to dramatically limit expected state education aid increases to Nashua, Merrimack, Hudson and dozens of communities for the next two years.

Lynch said Thursday he supports giving out the same $527 million in state aid an existing law would offer.

The increase in state grants to Nashua and other communities will be lower than the state law spells out now by an unspecified amount, Lynch said.

Rick

People get what they deserve. They lost their minds last Nov and voted Republicans out of office now as a result they've got Lynch and Deval Patrick.

I can't even comprehend what on earth Lynch is thinking? It makes no sense.

Actually Lynch was already in office - so they did not vote him out unless you believe that he was voted out and then at the same time voted in.

No love for Lynch here, but I can't let this go without saying that the Teddy "Fat Cat" Gatsas plan was total crap that was hammering this town's education aid. Things aren't noticibly better now, but they sure as hell aren't worse. More of the same.

Conficius

I am no fan of Gatsas either and I agree his plan was crap.

But we are getting more of the same regardless of which party is in office.
