Because extensive and meticulous government regulation by "swarms of agents," good old fashioned NIMBY, environmentalists, etc, etc, etc, all make it next to impossible to build new disposal capacity whether that be in a big plastic-lined hole in the ground, a WTE plant, or launching it into the sun.

Wonder who pays those lobbyists? Hmmmm... Could it be...

You see Mike in the long run you're simply going to pay more. That's fine, as long as you don't also whine about your taxes. Right now if you have pickup you're paying twice.

That's why I want to shut down the transfer station, and get the town out of the trash hauling business altogether. Or at least out of the money-losing aspects of it...
