More good news from Rep. Shea-Porter

Postby RD » Mon Jul 28, 2008 6:22 pm

Last Tuesday, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter announced that New Hampshire has been awarded a federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for nearly $900,000. The grant will be used to offset the cost of providing health insurance to New Hampshire residents who cannot receive conventional health insurance because of their health status.

The grant will be administered through the New Hampshire Health Plan, a state high-risk pool which provides health insurance to New Hampshire residents who are declined coverage through the private market, such as individuals with serious and chronic medical conditions.

“This grant provides crucial funding to the New Hampshire Health Plan,” stated Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “It will ensure affordable health care access for some of our most vulnerable citizens.”

The $882,252 grant that has been awarded to New Hampshire is part of a $49 million HHS grant to a total of 30 states nationwide.

Lovely. More dependence on the federal government to give us back some of the money they take from us in taxes with their cut taken out and lots of string attached.

Only somebody who doesn't understand math or the nature of power would think this is good news.

Good news is when they lower taxes AND spending. But especially the taxes.

Rowland clearly has health insurance, and doesn't care a bit about his fellow NH residents whom do not.

RD - why don't you care about people who work for a living and are trying to get by rather than having more and more of our money taken from us? If the government is so worried about these people maybe they should simply make available several health plans peolpe can purchase that accept pre-existing conditions rather than taking money from others?
