Here's a video of most (I think the first minute or so is missing) of the excerpted portion of the October 26th Town Council meeting.

Is anyone else interested in more of these videos?

Excellent idea.

These videos could even be cross-referenced on our own website. Great idea....

WOW! That was great! Cheers to Nat for posting this and to the Media department for making it. Any chance we can we get all Town Council meetings broadcast like this?

(Edited to try again to get a photo in here. Now how do I make it smaller? )

At this point the bandwidth is not available from the studio to do this 'live'. It has been brought up before and my personal concern has been going from people being taped by the Town to broadcast on what amounts to be a closed curcit TV (only Merrimack) to being available to the world.

People know when WMUR shows up they may be on TV and some shy away because they don't want to (and they can avoid those cameras). They would not be able to avoid the cameras in the court house.

Perhaps YouTube has opened people's eyes.

Perhaps they do by going to a local establishment and buying a shot/glass/bottle of the images they are posting :-)

I had missed the introduction and a few seconds of the chair's initial remarks on my version of the recording.

This is the official version, linked from and created by the folks at Merrimack.tv, our official public access cable website.

Brian, what about if we don't broadcast it live, just tape it and make the tape available for download on the Web. Would that get around the bandwidth problem?

As for the personal concern, would people really worry that total strangers will bother to download a local government meeting? And they would be concerned about that but not about having their friends and neighbors see them on cable?
