Gas Furnace Contractor

Postby mguman » Wed Feb 09, 2011 10:38 am

Hi. I am looking for recommendations on contractors who can replace a gas furnace. Please recommend who you have had good experiences with (service quality, cost) if you have recently replaced your gas furnace. If its Heritage - no thanks - I've had bad experiences with them. Also, what is a ball-park figure for how much a gas, forced hot water system costs these days (system and installation)? Thanks for your help.

I used E. C. Prouty from Atkinson. This was about 11 years ago when I put in an addition to my home. Ed was not the lowest bidder but he was the third lowest of 10 bids. He installed an high efficiency gas heating system with an A coil and scroll compressor (scrolls are not like most compressors, there are no pistons so maintenance is nearly non existent (just keep the vines away from the unit).

I have never had any problems and after all these years, I still enjoy recommending him as he is a decent and honest man. His number is 362-5550

I have used AC Heating and Air Conditioning to install several different furnaces for my home and business. Honest and straight-forward. Tend to be middle-of-the-road for pricing and will work very hard to accommodate your budget. Ask for Paul (603) 424-5660. They are in Merrimack.

Good luck

I have used them for A/C work in the past. Very hard working, straight forward and honest.

Ditto - Paul did some gas piping work for us about a year and a half ago and he did a great job. Would definitely recommend.

There are sites online that have reviews of different contractors. I know I've seen contractors and handyman and other reviews. You may be able to find a HVAC specialist. You could also ask your neighbors if they recommend anyone.
