Voter ID 2012

Postby lynn » Thu Jul 19, 2012 1:14 pm

for the September Primary
you need to be prepared to show an acceptable photo ID to vote
that includes drivers license, non-driver ID, student, Military, passport, gvt agency ID, Employee ID or
personally know to the election official.

If you do not have, you will be advised that you need to bring in November, but will be allowed to vote.

Now for November:
ditto - except if you do not have an ID, you will be required to sign a challenged voter affidavit
and then will be given a ballot and allowed to vote

all bets are off after November - new rules and we do not have good answers yet
I'll worry about that in January :?

Lynn, just an FYI but many of those forms of IDs are only going to be excepted this fall. According to Channel 5 news:
http://www.wptz.com/news/vermont-new-yo ... index.html
Under the new laws, a wide range of identification would be acceptable for elections this fall, but after that, only driver's licenses, state-issued non-driver's identification cards, passports or military IDs would be allowed.

Such a simple requirement for a supposedly civilized society...

Get over it folks, and help stop those who do lie and cheat daily to get their freebies. No excuses.
