Meet your Merrimack Town Council Candidate

Postby David McCray » Fri Mar 16, 2012 4:27 pm

All 6 Town Council candidates are being interviewed. The shows do not focus at all on political issues or political philosophies but focus on their upbringinings and how they grew to become the person they are today. This week Kevin Shea and Tom Mahon are featured

Dave,

I have watched both of these online already and I must commend you. Great idea! They are very interesting. Thanks!

Dave, are you also going to do a "Meet The School Board Candidate"?

Stan, I had not planned on it because of time, both my own and time available on channel 22, but if School candidates wanted to do it and Nick could find a way to get them aired then I would find a way to do it.

I have found it alot of fun and very interesting to say the least. If any school board candidate would like to be interviewed with same format ( same questions and no politics) they can send me an e mail at dmccray7@aol.com and I will ask Nick if he can find time to air them.

If there is an interest it would be great if all four did it just like all 6 councilors are doing it , that way it would be fair to all but if only a few wanted to do it as long as it was available to all, then I would probably still do it. Whats nice about the council candidates is that all 6 are doing it so its equal air time..

Another option might be to air them on channel 21 but that probably isnt possible since its not school sponsored but it would solve the issue of air time capacity.

Unfortunately, there is no sound on channel 22 this weekend. I tried to watch the Tom Mahon interview yesterday. The sound problem does not seem to affect 20 or 21.

Dave - thanks for offering to do this for the SB candidates as well. Sent you an email earlier today. I've really enjoyed the two you've recorded already, and would love to sit down in the same format to share a bit about myself with you and those watching at home.

Dave, thanks for answering.
I have a problem with the time thing though.
Channel 22 doesn't exactly have a full schedule of programs being broadcast.
They have been showing re-runs that are over 4 months old.
Let's hope you can get school board candidate's too.
Thanks.

I noticed that same problem a few days ago with a different show airing. Hope they can fix it.

Rick, the sound seems to be fixed now.

Dave, if they are running re-runs 4 mos old, it would be nice if we could get these shows on more often. Its only for about 3 weeks. I know lots of times I turn on 22 and nothing is running, too.

I have heard from all four candidates and they are interested. I have contacted Nick and he asked me to call him tommorow with some possible tape times. I have replied back to the candidates to see if we can tape the next 2 Tuesdays. As long as we can get the air time this is a go. Good idea Stan

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Thanks for doing this. I have watched several of these, and enjoyed all of them. All of them so far have been interesting. I may have opinions of of some of the candidates. However, its obvious to me every candidate is a top notch person. Thanks.

I agree. These have been really interesting, and the one thing that stands out the most is that all of the people running for office are good people, no villains, no evil-doers, just good people who want to help their community. We are lucky to have so many concerned citizens.

Thanks for doing these interviews, Dave.
