I spent last week staying at a hotel across the street from the Aventura Mall in Miami. If you want to see traffic, that's the place to be. Gulfstream Horse Racing is also in the Aventura Mall complex which draws crowds too.

There aren't enough people in a 100 mile radius of Merimack to draw as much traffic as the Aventura Mall does and even then if you drove during non-rush hours getting around wasn't a big problem.

Jeannine,

Most people do not have Presidents Day off unless you work for a bank, or the government.

Actually, a lot of large companies had it off. HP did, for example.

I see. You are right.

Exit 11 even worse. I think the traffic back up will be same or worse!

And I am not sure if the Planners knew what they were doing when they approved this center to have just one entrance and one exit. We will see how that goes.........

Does anyone know why the job fair is being held in Nashua rather than Merrimack?

Hi Richard,

Why would this really matter? They can draw from a larger pool of candidates in Nashua, and I would imagine the Community College is the best suited place for this. I don't think Nashua Community College is all that inconvenient to get to.....

The Patch is reporting an expectation of 25,000 cars per day during the grand opening period. This may be more cars than Gillette Stadium sees on a typical Patriots game on a Sunday. My opinion, I don't think Merrimack is set up to accommodate this kind of traffic, especially with one entrance to the outlet center. And this is just phase 1.

Well that does not include the Ribfest either, which will add a few thousand more to that number. As far as I know there was no change in the opening weekend? Where will everyone park?

Add in a 5 mile race which could draw a couple of thousand runners that starts at the RibFest and Exit 10/11 and DW Highway is going to be rather crowded! Good oppurtunity for enterprising folks to sell hot dogs and lemonade to people stuck in traffic!

Wow - The DOT put out the following alert - guess they are expecting a lot of people will be at the job fair tomorrow:

NH TRAFFIC ALERT: In Nashua on March 30th expect heavy traffic on the Everett TPK near exit 8 due to a special event between 8am and 4pm.
