Volunteers Needed

Postby Ross Hall » Sun Nov 24, 2002 3:33 pm

The ancient Chinese saying, "Talk doesn't cook the rice" sems so apropos to this Forum. Many peple "talk" and the need for volunteers for Merrimck Commissions and Committees rmains undermanned (or ladied, as the case may be). The "rice cookers, you see are "doers".
Currently there appear to be 12 openings total for the Heritage Commission, Parks and Recreation, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Cable TV Advisory Board and the Nashua Regional Planning Commisssion. Of course the 4th of July Committe has literally unlimited openings.
So how about it, all you "talkers", at least 12 of you folks not presently vo;unteering can find one opening of interest to you.
The rewards aren't high but your civic pride satisfaction will get a major boost

Hi Ross,

Please let me second your suggestion for people to participate in any committee that has an opening. You may even find it more interesting than you had imagined and you get to meet a lot of nice people that make up your community. Timing is everything and while the busy Christmas season may occupy all your time right now, start thinking about next year. It is right around the corner. Maybe your idea is just the one the committee has been hoping for.
