"Care" Packages for Iraq and Afganistan Armed Forces

Postby MissyB » Fri Jul 23, 2010 11:23 am

A couple of years ago, Dave McCray started a wonderful program to send letters or "Care" packages to Armed Forces from Merrimack or with Merrimack connection. I began sending packages to service people through this program. Unfortunately, it looks as though the website has not been updated recently. I enjoyed sending out the packages. I feel as though I am doing something useful. I think it is also a help to the family when other people are sending their loved ones "Care" packages, and I hope it brings a smile to the faces of the service people when they receive a package from someone they don't know thanking them for their service. Currenty, I have no one to send packages to. If you have a friend or relative serving in Iraq or Afganistan, please PM me their name and address, and I will be happy to send them packages.

Hi MissyB,

In September there will be a large ~700 troop deployment from NH to both theaters. This deplyment will include a ceremony at the Verizon Center in Manchester on 9/11. I know some of those troops will be from Merrimack. I think you will find many folks to continue you good work with. Thanks for keeping our soldiers in your thoughts!
