MBTA WiFi Rollout Proceeding

Postby Michael Pelletier » Mon Dec 29, 2008 5:55 pm

I'm posting this between Wilmington and North Billerica on the Lowell line.

They aren't kidding when they say you should be in the WiFi-marked car - I was in the next car down and had two bars, but simply couldn't connect to the network at all.

There's a little white 4"x4" panel antenna at the far end of the car, and it's highly directional.

Don't use the "Commuter Rail Connect" network that may show up in your list, connect to "MBTA_WiFi_###" where "###" is the car number. Strangely enough, the tech support guy didn't even know what the "Commuter Rail Connect" network was.
