Job Seekers

Postby Nat Fairbanks » Tue Mar 04, 2003 11:22 am

This area is for local residents to network about employment opportunities in the area. There are many sites devoted to larger employers seeking workers, so feel free to use those if you are an employer.

Marketing Guy seeks advice

Having a local site to network with other people who are seeking jobs should be helpful. Thanks to the forum moderators for enabling this venue for ‘virtual networking’!

I've found that this yahoo group:
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/nhjobslist/

Is VERY good at posting lots of jobs in the area.

And it's one MORE example of why I get frustrated at the whole "Nobodies Hiring" crap. Sorry - don't respond to that in this thread.

In other news: I'm at PC Connection, and we're looking very hard for Dot Net developers, and are particularly desperate for a "build master" type who'se pretty good at scripting type stuff, not necissarly but hopefully in a Microsoft enviornment. We're "optimistically" looking for a BizTalk expert, but that's a pretty narrow and new disicpline.

All this, and more, available in deatil here:
http://www.pcconnection.com/Careers/Openings.htm

Email me directly at MSheppard "@" Gmail.com - this isn't a PC Connection email address, so feel free to be open about anything you need to know about the company. It's not a bad place to work.

PC Connection is hiring entry level developers. Drop me an email or reply here if you're interested or know someone who is.

We've got some rec's for some expierenced dot net developers as well, but unless you've got biztalk expierence it's gonna be hard to land these.

Anyone know of any local software openings that do NOT require web programming (or Java) experience? If yes, I'd be eternally grateful if you emailed me about it.

Thanks.

Wayne,

Check http://www.skillsoft.com job opportunities. They have a few software titled jobs that might match your skill set.

What are your skill sets? What geographic constraints do you have?

What exactly do you do? Wendy's are hiring but if you're looking for some type of professional job you'll need to give a little detail as far as what you are looking for.

Nortel, in a headlong charge towards reduction of Information Technology percentage-of-revenue and SG&A numbers, just laid off another 3,500 people worldwide in the IT Department, myself among them. This comes on the heels of a 10% global reduction in December. I'm investigating Nortel-internal redeployment as well as any opportunities outside of Nortel.

In general, I'm seeking a high-level technology professional position commensurate with my 25 years of experience with UNIX systems and 20 years of professional UNIX and network computer systems support, architecture, and toolsets, or short- to mid-term consulting opportunities.

It'll be a few days for a resume, since it's been about 8 years since I've needed one. Drop me a line at mvpel@hushmail.com or send Forum-mail.
