Daylight Savings Time

Postby Nat Fairbanks » Mon Apr 17, 2006 3:03 pm

This is a test post (and a notification) that I might have finally found a fix for the Daylight Savings Time one hour off problem that affects this forum every year. Every year I get a few questions about it, and this year I seemed to get more than ever, so I searched again for a solution. If this works then posts should appear to be made at the correct time as long as your time zone is set to GMT-5 and the server continues to be hosted in the Eastern Time Zone as well.

Hmm, it appears to have corrected the post times by an hour, but I just noticed the times were off by two hours now... This deserves more investigating.

Nat,

I changed the time field in my profile from "GMT -5" (EST) to "GMT -4" (EDT), and it seems that the post time stamps are now displayed correctly.

Tom

I changed mine after I read your posting and it now displays the correct time.

Thanks for the tip

If posts appear to be in the "future" by an hour visit your "User Control Panel" "Board preferences" tab and change DST/Summertime to not be in effect.

This link should take you there.
