Wednesday July 28, 2010 11:58 AM EDT

HIGH FIRE DANGER, No outside burning allowed in Merrimack (NO campfires, wood fires on the ground, brush chimeneas, fire pits of any type etc.)

Due to the dry conditions and high winds there will be no outside burning in Merrimack until further notice. No Fire Permits will be issues and ALL Seasonal Permits are cancelled. Please help keep Merrimack Safe, report any outside burning to the Police or Fire Departments.

Is anyone surprised?

The whole area is a tinder box.

While it may be a great summer for those who ride motorcycles, I wouldn't want to be a farmer this year...

I guess this just shows we must live with the ebbs and tides of the weather...

Actually, I heard on the radio that local farms are booming this year, compared to the wash-out of last year. I guess it helps if you can control your amount of irrigation.

But yes, great summer for the bike. :D
