Moose in Merrimack

Postby Shannon Barnes » Sun Jul 18, 2010 6:52 pm

I was driving home and saw no less than 40 cars along the road on Continental Blvd. just north of Tinker Rd. Traffic was crawling so I asked someone on a bicycle what was wrong. There is a moose wading in the swamp off of the road and people were taking pictures with everything from professional grade cameras to those with cell phone cameras. It is my understanding the moose was there for hours cooling off and sipping water--unphased by the people and cars that stopped to say hi.

If anyone has pics the Union Leader would like them for the article regarding the moose.

Thanks Shannon. Marc Nozell was kind enough to provide us with some amazing shots.

I'm a little late to this but we were driving home from Jake's Ice Cream in Amherst when we saw the large amount of cars pulled over. At first we thought it could have been an ugly car accident but fortunately it was the moose. First time my son got to see one.

The moose was staring at the people who were staring at him (her?). A funny sight!
